Tennessee landed a commitment from four-star linebacker TJ White on Tuesday, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound prospect in the 2026 class.

The future Jackson Academy product out of Jackson, MS, is ranked as the No. 113 player in the country, the No. 7 linebacker in the class, and the No. 5 player from the state of Mississippi, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

White is a hard-hitting linebacker with the ability to shed tackles using his size and speed to get after the ball. He’s got impressive vision and eye-opening closeout speed, whether that’s in pursuit of the quarterback or the ballcarrier. Any way you look at it, White is a huge addition for William Inge’s linebacker group on Rocky Top.

“Suddenness and unexpected power has proven to be no match for opposing offensive tackles as he attacks the corner with plenty of vigor,” 247’s Andrew Ivins wrote in an evaluation of White from June. “Super effective on delayed stunts as he builds momentum while crossing inside and flushes pockets with his downhill charge.”

White is Tennessee’s second linebacker commit in the class, alongside three-star Braylon Outlaw. White also lands as the third-highest ranked prospect and highest-rated defensive prospect in the Vols’ 2026 class.
