Four-star Tennessee football target Salesi Moa was originally scheduled to announce his college commitment Saturday but has pushed it back to an unknown future date, On3’s Alex Markham first reported.
Moa ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 50 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Ogden native also ranks as the top player in the state of Utah and the No. 6 athlete in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Ranked as an athlete, Moa can play either receiver or defensive back at the collegiate level with Josh Heupel and his staff seemingly recruiting him to play both spots. Home state Utah appears to be the current favorite to land Moa with On3’s Steve Wiltfong logging an expert prediction for Moa to commit to Utah earlier this week.
Tennessee is amongst the top contenders to land a commitment from Moa along with Michigan, Michigan State, Utah and Washington. Moa’s older brother is currently a member of the Michigan State football team. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete took official visits to all five schools with Tennessee getting the final visit in late June.

A standout at Fremont High School, Moa caught 58 passes for 800 yards and 10 touchdowns while also totaling 40 tackles and two pick sixes during his junior season. Moa helped lead the Silverwolves to an 8-4 record including a 4-1 record during his junior season.
Tennessee football has never had a player from the state of Utah as they attempt to make Moa the first. The Vols do have small ties to the state with Heupel beginning his college career at Snow College, 150 miles south of Ogden in the Beehive State.
The Vols’ 2026 recruiting class currently contains 17 commits but is low on numbers at receiver, holding a commitment from four-star slot receivers Tyreek King and Legend Bay as they continue to try and flip five-star LSU commit Tristen Keys. Tennessee boasts commitments from three defensive backs including two safeties, what Moa plays in high school, and a cornerback.
Tennessee’s 17-commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 15 in the country and No. 6 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
