Tennessee football was one of the first teams to offer 2027 running back Tyson Robinson, and it could be paying off. The Vols were named one of the four-star running back’s top 10 schools as he continues to narrow down his list.

Tennessee joins Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Mississippi State, Arizona State, Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M and Miami on the list, according to Hayes Fawcett.

Robinson is the No. 74 overall recruit in the country, according to 247 composite rankings. He is the No. 4 running back and the No. 4 player out of the state of Mississippi. He currently plays for Brandon High School in Brandon, Mississippi.

Robinson was just in Knoxville for a game day visit, as well. He was a part of the long and elite list of visitors for Tennessee’s game against Oklahoma on Nov. 1. The night game featuring ‘Dark Mode’ uniforms has seemingly left a lasting effect on recruits despite the loss on the field.

The four-star back has also been to campus this past May, March and January. He was in town for two game day visits last season and in June prior to the season, as well.

He initially picked up his offer on March 8, 2024. At that time, the only other Power Four offers he held were from Oregon, Missouri and Ole Miss. The Rebels are the only other team from that initial group that remains in the hunt.

Tennessee recently made the top schools list for 2027 running back Jerry ‘Andrew’ Beard, as well. UT is also in a good position for five-star back David Gabriel Georges out of Baylor School.

The Vols recently landed a near-top-100 recruit in the 2027 class in offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo. He is Tennessee’s third and highest-ranked commitment to the 2027 class. He sits alongside three-star linebacker JP Peace, who committed back in June, and three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, who committed in mid-October.

Uwaifo’s commitment also sent Tennessee a good bit up the early recruiting rankings, with the Vols moving from No. 21 to No. 15 in 247’s team rankings.
