Tennessee football did not land a commitment from a running back in the 2026 class, but the Vols are in the mix for multiple top targets at the position in the 2027 recruiting cycle. This includes top-five back Noah Roberts, who just released an updated list of top schools.
Tennessee was named alongside Oregon, Texas, Michigan, Arizona State, Ohio State, Washington, USC, Oklahoma and Notre Dame, according to Hayes Fawcett.
Roberts is rated as a four-star prospect and No. 80 recruit in the 2027 class, via Rivals Industry. He is the No. 5 running back and top-ranked player out of Arizona. He is out of Chandler, Arizona, where he plays for Basha.
“Complete back with speed, power and contact balance,” 247 analyst Greg Biggins wrote. “Has both initial burst and quickness with the top end speed to run away from a defense. Decisive, hits the hole with urgency and shows enough wiggle to make a defender miss in the hole or down the field. Runs with power and doesn’t shy away from contact and always finishes his runs falling forward. Excellent hands out of the backfield and very good after the catch…”
