After his redshirt-freshman season, Colin Brazzell, the younger brother of star wide receiver Chris Brazzell, announced he intended to enter the transfer portal. Now, with three years of eligibility remaining, he has committed to Abilene Christian. He announced the decision on his Instagram.
Colin Brazzell will join his high school teammate, quarterback Marcos Davila from Purdue and Nebraska, at ACU as recent portal additions.
“I want to Thank God for blessing me with the privilege to attend and play for the University of Tennessee,” Colin Brazzell wrote on X when transferring. “I am very thankful for the relationships I have built along the way. Therefore I will be entering the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility remaining.”

More From RTI: Former In-State Tennessee Football Defensive Back Transfers Sun Belt School
Colin Brazzell did not register any defensive snaps during the 2025 season. In 2024, he played against both Chattanooga and Kent State for a total of four snaps. He produced one tackle on that true freshman season.
From Midland, Texas, Colin Brazzell was considered a three-star recruit out of high school.
His older brother, Chris Brazzell, put together one of the best seasons of any wide receiver across the country this year. He posted 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns on 62 receptions. He was a consistent deep ball target for Joey Aguilar, often drawing pass interference even when he didn’t come up with a catch.
Chris Brazzell has already declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, where he is considered a potential first-round prospect. He played two seasons at Tulane and a pair at Tennessee.
Tennessee has lost 26 players to the portal this cycle, though the majority have been reserve pieces. The Vols have responded by retooling the roster, particularly the defense. This includes the commitments of defensive backs Qua Moss from Kansas State, Kayin Lee from Auburn, Dejuan Lane from Penn State and TJ Metcalf from Michigan.
There are additional transfer portal targets the Vols are after in the secondary, as well, with three more days of the portal being open. However, players already in the portal can sign with a new school after the closing.
