Tennessee football is one of the final five schools in the mix for a top wide receiver in the 2027 class. On March 2, Kesean Bowman named the Vols, Ohio State, Alabama, Miami and Vanderbilt as his top five choices.
Along with the announcement of the schools he has narrowed in on, he also revealed an official visit date to Knoxville. Rivals reports that he’ll take his OV on June 5, 2026.
Bowman is an in-state recruit out of Nashville. He plays for Brentwood Academy. 247 Composite lists Bowman as a five-star prospect. He is the No. 31 player in the class, No. 6 wide reciever and No. 2 player from the state of Tennessee.

Initially, Bowman was committed to Oregon. He made the decision to join the Ducks on July 24, 2025, but backed off the pledge on Sept. 19. That was less than a week following a game day visit to see Tennessee in action.
“Lean, wiry strong outside receiver who consistently makes plays in the short-to-intermediate passing game and in aerial situations,” 247 scouting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote. “Faster top-end speedsters exist; however, speed-varying nuance is advanced. Wins with impressive acceleration and the ability to shift up and down deftly, particularly within 20 yards. Fast enough downfield with the testing data to support that. Strong two-way snaps at receiver and cornerback. Could legitimately play P4 ball at either spot.”
So far, Tennessee has landed four commitments in the 2027 class. The Vols boast four-star offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo as the headliner, with four-star Kadin Fife also in the boat. However, Fife is apparently back in the evaluation process after defensive staff changes.
Three-star quarterback Derrick Baker and legacy linebacker JP Peace are also committed. More commitments are expected to roll in throughout the offseason as the class heats up, though.
