Former Tennessee football cornerback Colton Hood was one of seven Vols at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine and made the absolute most of the opportunity. As a result of his showing, Hood was named to the All-Combine Defensive Team by the NFL.
Hood was one of three cornerbacks named to the team. He joined D’Angelo Ponds and Chris Johnson on the roster. No other Tennessee players were named to the list, though. Quarterback Joey Aguilar, wide receiver Chris Brazzell, tight end Miles Kitselman, cornerback Jermod McCoy, defensive tackle Bryson Eason and edge rusher Joshua Josephs were also in attendance.
Hood earned a Next Gen Stats athleticism score of 82 thanks to a 4.44 40-yard dash, a 10-foot-5 broad jump and a 40.5-inch vertical jump. NFL.com listed the Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams as his best fits.

This was Hood’s first season at Tennessee. He began his career as a highly-rated recruit at Auburn before transferring to Colorado the following season. He spent that year under NFL legend Deion Sanders and alongside Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
Hood finished this year with 50 tackles, eight passes deflected, a forced fumble, an interception and two touchdowns. He was named to the 2025 All-SEC Second Team by the AP for his year.
Now, Hood is widely projected as a first-round pick. His showing at the combine could help seal that and potentially boost him into the top half of the round, as well.
The draft is scheduled to begin on April 25, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The first round will take place on Thursday, with the second and third rounds the following day, and the remainder of the draft after that.
