Tennessee football’s primary attention is on parlaying an elite 2026 recruiting class with a strong 2027 cycle. However, the Vols are also building relationships with recruits beyond the immediate future.
On Monday, class of 2029 offensive lineman Julius ‘JuJu’ Odenthal revealed a list of visits he plans on taking this month, starting this week. This included Tennessee, which will host Odenthal on March 21 once spring practice is underway.
Other schools getting visits include Ohio State, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, South Carolina, Georgia and Ole Miss. The Vols are the last team on the list to bring him to campus during this stretch.

Odenthal is from Pennington, New Jersey, where he plays for The Pennington School. He is initially from Germany, though, joining The Pennington School in March of 2025.
The Vols have seemingly not yet offered Odenthal, but he has reeled in a list of elite schools. This includes SMU, Florida, Pitt, Auburn, Georgia, NC State, Penn State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Akron and Oregon.
Tennessee does not hold any commits in the 2028 or 2029 classes, but are off to a strong start in the 2027 cycle. So far, UT has landed four commitments in the class. The Vols boast four-star offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo as the headliner, with four-star Kadin Fife also in the boat. However, Fife is apparently back in the evaluation process after defensive staff changes.
Three-star quarterback Derrick Baker and legacy linebacker JP Peace are also committed. More commitments are expected to roll in throughout the offseason as the class heats up, though.
This comes after Tennessee landed the No. 4 class in the country and No. 2 in the SEC via 247 in the 2026 cycle.
