Tomorrow marks one of the greatest days on the sports calendar. Selection Sunday means we get our hands on the official 68-team NCAA Tournament bracket and can begin to fill out guesses for how things will unfold in the pursuit of the first-ever perfect bracket.
As we count down to the release, Tennessee’s resume has been finalized. The Vols lost in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament on Friday to Vanderbilt, locking in the data points for the selection committee to seed UT. Currently, most bracketologies have Tennessee as a 5-seed, though some have it slipping to a 6-seed.
According to EvanMiya, the Vols are slotted as a projected 5-seed and will open the tournament with 12-seed Akron. Other projected seeds in Tennessee’s region that would stand in the way of a Final Four include 1-seed Florida, 2-seed UConn, 3-seed Purdue and 4-seed Kansas.
