Before you know it, the recruiting world will be spinning around class of 2030 quarterback prospect Marshall Manning. We already know the recruiting profile that Arch Manning had before choosing the University of Texas during the 2023 cycle, and it feels like Marshall Manning’s road to college football could be even bigger. He is the son of Tennessee legend and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.

Rivals’ Shayne Pickering shared a video on X on Saturday of Manning participating in the Music City Mayhem 7-on-7 event at Oakland High School in the Murfreesboro area. While Pickering’s 10-second video only shows one deep completion from Manning, he does note that the young quarterback “has taken another step forward into his development.”

“Baylor (TN) quarterback Marshall Manning has shown good velocity and anticipation the entire day today,” Pickering posted to X. “He has taken another step forward into his development and will be an exciting young QB for Baylor to build around.”

We’re obviously still a ways away from Manning’s recruiting cycle being at the forefront of things. For context, the 2026 recruiting class just wrapped up and the 2027 cycle is getting underway. But that’s not going to stop Manning’s name from jumping off the page – or, in this case, the screen – whenever he does show up in a highlight.

Last July, Stephen Hargis of the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported that Marshall Manning would be transferring to Baylor School. The school is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is just about a two-hour drive and 100-mile trip to Neyland Stadium. Hargis also reported that he was enrolling as an eighth-grade day student.

Peyton Manning visited the high school football contest between Baylor and McCallie last October and sat alongside former Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello during the game. That hangout took place just weeks before Vitello officially accepted the job as the San Francisco Giants’ manager.

Peyton and Marshall also made the trip over to the Food City Center last month to see the men’s basketball contest between Tennessee and Alabama on Feb. 28.

While Peyton Manning’s iconic No. 16 jersey is retired by the University of Tennessee football program, his son is using it for the 7-on-7 tournament at Oakland High School on Saturday.
