Tennessee football is well-represented on the field in the NFL. One of its bright spots is making an impact off the field, as well, though.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin was re-elected as the NFL Players’ Association’s President for another two-year term. In March of 2024, he was elected to a two-year in the role, as well.
“I’m honored that the Board has trusted me to continue serving as president,” Reeves-Maybin said in a statement. “There’s important work ahead, and I’m looking forward to continue advocating on behalf of our membership to protect our rights and advance our interests.”

Reeves-Maybin played at Tennessee from 2013-16. In 2015, he was named an All-SEC Second-Team member for his season. The following year, in 2016, he battled through injury, playing in just four games.
After the 2016 season, Reeves-Maybin declared for the NFL draft. He went in the fourth round, 124th overall, in the 2017 NFL Draft to the Lions. He played in Detroit through 2021, after re-signing for one additional year after his initial contract.
Then, Reeves-Maybin went to the Texans on a two-year deal. He primarily played on special teams before being released by Houston.
This made way for him to return to the Lions in 2023. He was named a Second-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowler for that season, due to his efforts on special teams. After that season, he signed a two-year contract, but was released in March of 2025 to clear up cap space.
Reeves-Maybin spent the 2025 season with the Bears. He began on the practice squad, but was elevated to the active roster for three regular-season games and a pair of playoff games. He is currently a free agent and has yet to sign with a new team.
