Tennessee football’s 2027 recruiting class is off to a strong start with six commitments in the boat. As the Vols look to build off this momentum, they have been placed in the top seven for one of the top edge rushers in the country, Aidan O’Neil.
O’Neil named the Vols, Notre Dame, Penn State, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Texas A&M as his top seven, according to Hayes Fawcett. He is from Ramsey, New Jersey, where he stars for Don Bosco Prep. He is initially from Montgomery, New York, though.
Heading into his senior season, O’Neil is ranked as the No. 73 prospect in the country on 247. He is the No. 9 edge rusher in the country and No. 3 recruit from New Jersey.
O’Neil stands at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, via 247. It is currently unclear if he would play defensive end or in the LEO role at UT if he picked the Vols.

Three-stars in the class are quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler and in-state legacy linebacker JP Peace.
