Tennessee Football is coming off a 2026 recruiting class that ranked No. 9 in the nation. That class featured standout prospects such as QB Faizon Brandon, WR TK Keys, and LB Brayden Rouse. Head coach Josh Heupel and the Volunteers are now looking to make another Top 10 class happen again in the 2027 recruiting cycle.

Rivals released its updated recruiting rankings on Monday, which shook up its Top 25 team rankings a bit. Tennessee Football’s class now comes in at No. 16 in the country. The Vols are ranked as the seventh-highest SEC team, behind No.1 Texas A&M, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 6 Georgia, No. 7 Florida, No. 10 LSU, and No. 12 Texas.

Tennessee currently has six commitments in the 2027 cycle, which is a small bit below the average at this point in time. Of the Top 16 teams in Rivals’ recruiting rankings, including Tennessee at the back end with six commits, the average number of commitments for those teams is just over nine. LSU is at the bottom with four commitments, while Oklahoma is at the top with 20 commitments.

Still, though, Tennessee has found some nice pieces in the early stages of the class. The Vols have also really ramped things up in the summertime over the last few years. Rivals has Tennessee with three four-star recruits and three three-star recruits in its class so far.
