Tennessee baseball is looking to end the regular season strong as it heads to Oklahoma City this weekend to face off against Oklahoma in a three-game series. After a series victory over Texas, the Vols are in a strong spot to make the NCAA Tournament but are looking to solidify their spot this weekend.
Where do the Vols stand in the final Field of 68 projections of the regular season?
D1Baseball projects Tennessee as a two-seed (No. 29 overall seed) in the Atlanta Regional where they are matched with No. 2 overall seed Georgia Tech. Other teams in the Atlanta Regional include three-seed Tarleton State and four-seed Bethune-Cookman.
If Tennessee were to pull the upset and win the Atlanta Regional then they would match up against the winner of the Lawrence Regional including Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri State and SIU Edwardsville.
Eleven SEC teams are in the D1 Baseball projection including Arkansas, Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn, Mississippi State, Texas, Kentucky, Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M and Oklahoma.

In past years, the NCAA seeded only the top 16 teams of the tournament. But this year, they are seeding the top 32 teams. While the selection committee does not have to create direct matches (No. 1 overall seed with No. 32 overall seed) they have to create relative matches.
That means that teams seeded No. 1 through No. 4 have to be paired with someone seeded No. 29 through No. 32. Teams seeded No. 5 through No. 8 have to be paired with someone seeded No. 25 through No. 28. Teams seeded No. 9 through No. 12 have to be paired with someone seeded No. 21 through No. 24. And lastly, teams seeded No. 13 through No. 16 have to be paired with teams seeded No. 17 through No. 20
Tennessee enters the final series of the season with a 35-18 (13-14 SEC) record. One win in Oklahoma City would almost certainly guarantee a NCAA Tournament appearance for the Vols.
First pitch for the weekend series between Tennessee and Oklahoma is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday night. The SEC Network+ is streaming the matchup.
