Five-star wing Malachi Jordan has scheduled an official visit with Tennessee basketball. The 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward is officially visiting Tennessee on Sept. 26, On3’s Joe Tipton first reported and a source confirmed to RTI. He also has an official visit scheduled to Alabama.

Jordan is officially visiting Tennessee the same weekend that the Vol football team hosts Texas at Neyland Stadium. It’s the first big home game of the season for Tennessee football.

Jordan ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 13 player in the 2027 recruiting class according to the 247sports composite rankings. He also ranks as the No. 4 small forward in his class.

A White Station, Tennessee native, Jordan took a pair of unofficial visits to Tennessee during the winter of 2025. The blue-chip recruit watched the Vols rout the future national champion Florida Gators and beat Alabama on a Jahmai Mashack buzzer beater.

Jordan spent his freshman season at the Ensworth School in Nashville but spent his junior season at Dream City Christian in Arizona.

Tennessee basketball does not have a commit yet in its 2027 recruiting class. The Vols have hosted a handful of 2027 prospects on visits last fall including five-star wing Gabe Nesmith, four-star shooting guard RJ Moore and four-star shooting guard Chase Lumpkin. Rick Barnes and his staff also has interest in five-star Marcus Spears Jr and a number of other recruits.

Jordan’s official visit is the first official visit scheduled for Tennessee basketball this fall. It checks out as the Middle Tennessee native is one of the Vols’ very top targets in the class.

The Vols have four seniors on their roster for this upcoming season so will have at least four scholarships available. However, that number will almost certainly increase with potential NBA Draft prospects and other players potentially entering the transfer portal.
