Highly touted Northwestern State transfer pitcher Brody Trosclair committed to Tennessee baseball Monday night just a day after completing an official visit with the Vols, he announced on Instagram in a collab post with Around The Horn Season.
One of the most sought after transfers this offseason, Trosclair chose Tennessee over a number of top SEC programs including Arkansas, Auburn, Florida and his home state LSU. A 5-foot-11, 186-pound left hander, Trosclair has three years of eligibility remaining but will be eligible for the 2028 MLB Draft.
Trosclair is coming off a strong freshman season where he posted a 5-1 record, 1.89 ERA and 1.13 WHIP on his way to earned Southland Freshman of the Year honors. The left-handed pitcher started four games, made six relief appearances and struck out 55 batters in 38 innings pitched.
The Thibodaux, Louisiana native last pitched on April 2 before suffering an arm injury that cost him the remainder of his freshman season. Trosclair underwent surgery on his arm back in April but it is currently unclear if the recovery will cost him time next season.

Trosclair is the second transfer to commit to Tennessee baseball this offseason joining Mercer two-way Braydon Kersey. Samford outfielder Jake Souders and Air Force infielder Wyatt Hanoian have also visited Tennessee this offseason.
A number of Tennessee players have announced intentions to return for next season including pitchers Landon Mack, Cam Appenzeller, Will Haas, Nic Abraham, Jackson Estes and Chandler Day. Pitching remains a priority for Tennessee in the portal.
Fourteen Tennessee players have entered the transfer portal this offseason including outfielder Nate Eisfelder, shortstop Manny Marin, utility man Jay Abernathy, catcher Cash Williams, infielder Finley Bates, shortstop Ariel Antigua, infielder Ethan Moore, first baseman Evan Hankins, utility man Hunter High, utility man Chris Newstrom, outfielder Hutson Chance and right-handed pitcher Brayden Krenzel, two-way Taylor Tracey and right-handed pitcher Ari Bethea.
