Tennessee football is one of the four schools still in the hunt for a top safety recruiting target and just hosted him for an official visit to further its case. Four-star safety in the class of 2027, Kenaz Sullivan, named the Vols, Ohio State, Florida and Maryland has his finalists, according to a report from Hayes Fawcett, back on June 2.
Just days later, Sullivan took his official visit to Knoxville to get a closer look at Tennessee. He was on campus this past weekend, along with other priority targets.
Sullivan also saw Indiana for an official visit in April, but cut the Hoosiers from his list. He saw Florida the week prior to UT and has plans to see Ohio State this weekend and Maryland the weekend after.

Sullivan ranks as the No. 236 player in the country, via 247. He is the No. 22 safety in the class and the No. 4 player from the state of Virginia. He is from Springfield, Virginia, where he plays for The St. James.
Sullivan’s primary recruiter at Tennessee is Anthony Poindexter. He joined the staff this offseason as the co-defensive coordinator under new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. Poindexter also serves as the safeties coach on the staff and has ties to the state of Virginia as a star safety himself for UVA.
Tennessee currently holds the No. 41 recruiting class in the 2027 cycle, according to 247. So far, the Vols hold 12 commitments, including four four-star recruits. That features wide receiver Kesean Bowman, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, tight end Malik Howard and defensive lineman Kadin Fife.
Tennessee is also in a strong position for other big-name recruits, which could catapult UT up the recruiting rankings. As official visits continue, stay tuned with Rocky Top Insider for all the latest updates.
