On Tuesday, the SEC announced the opponents for each women’s basketball team in the conference and where the games will be played. This included Lady Vols basketball, who now know which teams will be traveling to Knoxville and which they will have to play on the road.
One game that will be circled on Tennessee fans’ calendars is the matchup with Ole Miss. There was already intrigue after the short interaction between head coaches Kim Caldwell and Yolett McPhee-McCuin following last year’s game, but now there’s transfer portal drama.
After starring for the Lady Vols last season, Talaysia Cooper and Jaida Civil will both be returning to Knoxville for a game with the Rebels. The game date, tip-off time and TV designation will be announced at a later date.
Tennessee will also play a few other outgoing transfers. Kaniya Boyd is now at Texas A&M, which will be a road game for the Lady Vols. UT also is set to face Alyssa Latham and Lauren Hurst, who are on Virginia Tech, on the road in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Dec. 3.
