Tennessee football is one of the three schools still in the running to land one of the top offensive tackles in the country. Four-star Joshua Sam-Epelle is down to the Vols, Georgia and Georgia Tech, with a commitment date set for Friday, June 19, 2026. It will air on 247/CBS Sports at 1 p.m. ET.
While Tennessee is still one of the schools that Sam-Epelle named as a finalist, things are trending away from UT. On 247, three predictions came in on Tuesday for his commitment. Each has him going to Georgia Tech.
Sam-Epelle ranks as the No. 112 overall player in the 2027 class on 247. He clocks in as the No. 16 offensive tackle and No. 8 player from the state of Georgia, as well. He is from Douglasville, Georgia, where he plays for Douglas County High School.

Sam-Epelle is coming off a string of visits as he narrows in on his decision. He saw Georgia Tech back on April 10, UCLA on May 29, Georgia on June 5 and LSU on June 12. He was scheduled to be in Knoxville this weekend, though it’s unlikely he will still take the visit if his choice isn’t UT.
The primary recruiter of Sam-Epelle at Tennessee was offensive line coach Glen Elarbee. The Vols were one of the first schools to show interest in him, as well. UT offered him back on May 6, 2024, becoming just the third Division I offer that he reeled in.
Currently, Tennessee holds 16 commitments in the 2027 class. This ranks as the No. 37 group in the country on 247.
