Tennessee football’s top-rated commit in the class of 2027 is no longer willing to entertain offers from other schools. On Wednesday night, blue-chip wide receiver Kesean Bowman officially shut down his recruitment and announced he’s locked in with the Vols on his Instagram in a post made in conjunction with RockyTopNow.
Bowman ranks as a four-star prospect on 247 Composite. He is slotted as the No. 56 player in the country, No. 9 wide receiver and No. 3 player from the state of Tennessee, as well. He is from Brentwood, Tennessee, where he stars for Brentwood Academy.
Bowman announced his commitment to the Vols back on March 28, 2026. Since then, he’s taken multiple visits to UT, including an official visit on June 5.

Bowman initially picked Tennessee over a top five that featured Alabama, Miami, Ohio State and Vanderbilt. His primary recruiter at UT was wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Kelsey Pope.
“Wiry outside receiver with the length, speed and coordination to be a consistent winner on the perimeter in college,” 247 director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote. “Tracking to be a three-year producer for one of Tennessee’s top prep programs and has been a regular top performer on the offseason camp circuit. Already owns an impressive release package. Will attack leverage before making dynamic cuts. Can swiftly decelerate and accelerate…”
Bowman leads the back for a growing 2027 recruiting class for Tennessee. The Vols hold 16 commitments, which ranks as the No. 37 group in the country on 247.
