Tennessee Basketball is going through summer practices with its new-look roster. The Vols brought in eight players from the transfer portal and four from the high school recruiting scene, so there’s certainly no shortage of new faces on the court at all times.

Two of the big men that Tennessee brought in from the portal are Braedan Lue and Miles Rubin. Lue is a 6-foot-9 forward from Kennesaw State, who averaged 10.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game for the Owls last season. Rubin is a 6-foot-10 forward from Loyola-Chicago, who averaged 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists last season for the Ramblers.

On top of getting used to their new teammates on the court, Tennessee’s portal players are also getting used to the Vols’ practice style and Rick Barnes’ coaching. But all have had positive reactions to their first experiences with Tennessee’s program as things get started in its very earliest stages.

After Thursday’s practice, Tennessee had Lue and Rubin speak with the media. They both talked about their first impressions of their teammates, Barnes’ coaching style, why Tennessee was the choice out of the portal, and much more.
