Tennessee football pulled off one of the biggest flips in the 2027 recruiting cycle. The Vols landed in-state wide receiver Kesean Bowman to pull him away from his previous commitment to Oregon.
Bowman ranks as a four-star prospect on 247 Composite. He is slotted as the No. 56 player in the country, No. 9 wide receiver and No. 3 player from the state of Tennessee, as well. He is from Brentwood, Tennessee, where he stars for Brentwood Academy.
Rivals placed the commitment of Bowman as one of the eight biggest flips of the cycle so far this week. This puts him in the same breath as the likes of five-star prospects.

Bowman is locked in with Tennessee, as well. After his official visit to see the Vols, he announced that his recruitment is officially shut down, and he will no longer be considering any other options.
Bowman picked Tennessee over a top five that featured Alabama, Miami, Ohio State and Vanderbilt after his decommitment from Oregon. His primary recruiter at UT was wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Kelsey Pope.
“Wiry outside receiver with the length, speed and coordination to be a consistent winner on the perimeter in college,” 247 director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote. “Tracking to be a three-year producer for one of Tennessee’s top prep programs and has been a regular top performer on the offseason camp circuit. Already owns an impressive release package. Will attack leverage before making dynamic cuts. Can swiftly decelerate and accelerate…”
Bowman leads the pack for a growing 2027 recruiting class for Tennessee. The Vols hold 16 commitments, which ranks as the No. 40 group in the country on 247. He is joined by DaYon Cooper, a former Florida State commit, as wide receivers committed in the cycle.
