Tennessee Athletics has officially made the switch from its previous apparel deal with Nike to adidas. As a part of the change, UT has revealed orange, white, Summitt Blue and black uniforms across its sports. For Tennessee football, this featured orange, white and black sets.

However, it appears the Vols may not be done. After releasing the ‘Dark Mode’ set on Thursday, the official Tennessee football account teased more adidas reveals in a post on X.

Many fans have jumped to the natural conclusion of a Smokey Grey uniform. The Vols reintroduced Smokey Grey uniforms in 2022 and followed it up with a new alteration to the set under Nike every year through the 2025 season. Fueling the fire is a Smokey Grey square in the top right of the graphic, accompanied by orange, white and black.

Whether it’s a Smokey Grey jersey or another new adidas piece being revealed, there is no firm timeline for when it will be announced. UT had scheduled the reveal of the orange, white, Summitt Blue and black uniforms through Thursday, but did not set a date for any other sets.

“We appreciate adidas recognizing the power of the Tennessee brand and we are excited about the future of this transformative partnership,” Tennessee football head coach Josh Heupel said. “Both current and future Vols will benefit from this historic deal. adidas is providing us with world-class resources and apparel that will continue to push our brand to the forefront of college football for years to come. We can’t wait to showcase our adidas uniforms this fall.”

Friday marks the release of Tennessee adidas merchandise for purchase by fans, though. New apparel can be found here.
