Tennessee Vols in the NBA Summer League: Results and Stats – July 16

Thursday’s slate of NBA Summer League games brings the conclusion of the “regular season” stretch. Teams will now battle it out in consolation and playoff brackets with the event beginning to wind down in the near future.

Four former Tennessee Vols were in action on Thursday, with Toronto’s Tyreke Key, Memphis’ Jahmai Mashack, Chicago’s Kennedy Chandler, and Dallas’ Jaden Springer.

It wasn’t all that notable of a night, especially compared to some of the performances that we’ve seen in the last few days from Chaz Lanier, Nate Ament, and Ja’Kobi Gillespie, but Springer and Key both snuck into the double-digit scoring range.

Here’s a look at the stats from the four Vols in action on Thursday:

Raptors 99, Heat 90

• Tyreke Key: 16 minutes, 11 points, 2/8 FG, 1/4 3FG, 1 REB, 1 AST, 0 TO

Grizzlies 96, Hawks 64

• Jahmai Mashack: 14 minutes, 4 points, 0/2 FG, 0/1 3FG, 2 REB, 2 AST, 0 TO, 3 STL

Mavericks 97, Thunder 87

• Jaden Springer: 15 minutes, 11 points, 3/8 FG, 1/3 3FG, 0 REB, 3 AST, 4 TO, 2 BLK

Lakers 105, Bulls 82

• Kennedy Chandler: 13 minutes, 2 points, 0/1 FG, 0/1 3FG, 1 REB, 2 AST, 0 TO

With the Grizzlies big win over the Hawks, Mashack will be the only former Vol playing in the NBA Summer League playoffs this weekend. His team will face the Rockets on Saturday, which will see the winner of Lakers/Warriors in the championship game on Sunday.

The rest of the 10 VFLs in Summer League action will play a consolation game on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Here’s a look at the three former Vols in action on Friday:
