Lady Vols basketball is still ironing out the details of its out-of-conference schedule ahead of year three under Kim Caldwell. This does include a premier non-SEC foe coming to Knoxville, though, returning Tennessee’s trip from a year ago.
With a date yet to be announced, the Lady Vols will host defending national champions UCLA this upcoming season. Last year, Tennessee lost 99-77 in Los Angeles. Overall, the series sits in the favor of the Lady Vols 18-4. This includes an 8-1 record at home, but a three-game losing streak in the set for UT.
The upcoming edition of the game is already drawing hype, as well. According to ESPN, it is one of the top-10 non-conference matchups across the country for the upcoming season.
“The defending champion Bruins are looking to rebuild with Siena Betts as the centerpiece after losing five players in the first round of the WNBA draft,” ESPN writer Kareem Copeland wrote. “The Volunteers continue their attempt to return to past glory in coach Kim Caldwell’s third year.”
