The Vol Network released its weekly programming plan for this fall Thursday evening with one network staple missing— Vol Calls.
After 35 years, Tennessee’s weekly call-in show that allowed fans to directly ask coaches questions is ending. Record at Calhouns on the River in recent years, the show gave fans the opportunity to interact with Tennessee coaches, and sometimes players, throughout the season.
“The overriding idea is to give Tennessee fans more content across more platforms and to make it easier to access,” Voice of the Vols Mike Keith said in a statement. “The Vol Network and VFL Films, along with media partners like Cumulus Media and Gray Television, have worked together over the past seven months to make it happen. It has been exciting to work on this project for all of us, and this is only the first step in what will be a continuing process.”
The replacement for Vol Calls is the new Mike Keith Show that will run from 3-5 p.m. ET on Thursday afternoons. The show will include Tennessee head coaches and special guest. Josh Heupel will be on the show every week throughout football season.
Tennessee fans can watch the show on the Tennessee Athletics YouTube page and participating Vol Radio Network affiliates across the state of Tennessee.
Keith is entering his first year as the Voice of the Vols, replacing Bob Kesling who retired as the Voice of the Vols after 26 years following the end of basketball season. A Tennessee alum, Keith spent the last 26 years as the Voice of the Tennessee Titans.

The rest of the Vol Network’s programming includes the Big Orange Rewind with Keith and Brent Hubbs from 6-8 on Sunday nights from football through basketball season. The two will recap the week of action and preview the upcoming week.
Vole Network Monday Meeting, an in-depth television show, will run from 7-8 p.m. ET during football and basketball season. During football season, Heupel will join the show each week. The show will broadcast on WVLT each week and will also broadcast on the Tennessee Athletics YouTube page.
The Everything Orange Podcast with Sarah Detwiler, which includes conversations with Tennessee student-athletes, coaches and alums, is back for a third season beginning this fall. Past interviews include Rick Barnes, Candace Parker and countless current Tennessee athletes.
The Vol Network’s fall programming begins on Sunday, Aug. 24 with the Big Orange Rewind. Tennessee opens up its 2025 football schedule on Saturday, Aug. 30 against Syracuse in Atlanta.
“We are fully invested in providing Vol Nation with a robust selection of engaging programming for all ages throughout the entire year,” Tennessee Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Marketing Officer Alicia Longworth said in a statement. “We understand that people consume content at different times of the day based on their schedules. Having live shows, along with on-demand content, is critical in this era. We are excited to share the amazing stories of Tennessee coaches and student-athletes across all of these platforms.”
