Tennessee Football completed its 11th fall camp practice on Thursday morning, building up to the second scrimmage of camp on Friday. The media wasn’t able to attend practice on Thursday, but we did get one of the more highly anticipated press conferences this month with wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope and sophomore wide receiver Mike Matthews.
While talking to the media for nearly 11 minutes, Pope hit on a number of topics regarding his room. He spoke about the young players getting increased reps this fall, the relationship between Matthews and fellow second-year receiver Braylon Staley, the difference between last year’s room and this year’s room, Chris Brazzell’s recovery, and more.
Matthews also spent a few minutes speaking on Thursday, as he touched on the growth of freshmen Travis Smith Jr. and Radarious Jackson, his ability to play all three receiver spots, his role in the return game, and much more.
