Four-star shooting guard Jacob Webber was scheduled to officially visit Tennessee basketball in two weekends when the Vol football team hosts Georgia in a marquee showdown at Neyland Stadium.

But that visit will no longer happen. Webber committed to Purdue basketball Tuesday morning following a weekend official visit to West LaFayette. The blue-chip recruit is a Kearney, Nebraska who spent his junior season at Kearney High School before transferring to the La Lumiere School in Indiana for his high school senior season.

Webber ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 90 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-6, 175-pound wing also ranks as the No. 37 small forward in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Tennessee basketball has cast a wide net on the wing in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Four-star wing Gage Mayfield officially visited Tennessee back in the summer while four-star Bryson Howard, four-star Bo Ogden and four-star Manny Green have all scheduled fall official visits with the Vols.

Tennessee does not hold a commitment in the 2026 recruiting cycle but its board is starting to come into place. Point guard is a major point of emphasis, as well as wing. High four-star point guard Miles Sadler is officially visiting Tennessee basketball this weekend while five-star Deron Rippey Jr. has an official visit scheduled in October.

Other recruits that have scheduled official visits with Tennessee this fall include four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis and four-star power forward Cody Peck.

Tennessee basketball has four seniors on its 2025-26 roster but after signing a large prep class a season ago, the Vols likely won’t sign an abundance of prep prospects this cycle.
