Tennessee football bounced back from its first loss of the 2025 season by knocking off UAB 56-24 Saturday afternoon at Neyland Stadium.

The Vols came out the gates fast, going 75 yards on seven plays to open the game and then scoring a touchdown in just two plays on its second drive after Tennessee’s defense forced a three-and-out on UAB’s opening drive of the game.

Joey Aguilar and Tennessee’s first team offense scored touchdowns on seven of their eight drives in the game. Tennessee’s running backs frequently found the checkerboards with Star Thomas and DeSean Bishop each scoring two touchdowns while Peyton Lewis added another.

Tennessee scuffled a bit in the second half as they worked reserves and young players into the game. The Vols’ offensive reserves failed to produce a scoring drive while UAB used a pair of second half touchdown drives to cover the lofty spread.

Following the game, Rocky Top Insider’s Ric Butler and Ryan Schumpert discussed the fast start, second half let down and much in the RTI Reaction. Check it out here.
