Tennessee running back target David Gabriel Georges put out an unbelievable performance during a huge high school rivalry game in the Volunteer State on Friday night. Georges’ 280 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries helped Baylor pick up a 38-35 win over rival McCallie.

One of Georges’ highlight plays came on a 53-yard rushing touchdown late in the second quarter when his team was trailing by a score.

Later in the game, Georges broke off a 60-yard touchdown run to give Baylor a three-point lead with both teams trading blows back and forth.

Stephen Hargis of the Chattanooga Times Free Press said on X that Georges is the “best RB” that he has seen in his 36 years covering prep high school football.

“The ability to cut, break tackles and hit top-end speed in about two steps – if you wonder what a RB looks like who’s gonna demand a million $$-plus from whoever he signs with, just watch David Gabriel Georges in this game tonight,” Hargis posted to X. “Finished with 25 carries for 280 yards and 3 TDs.”

According to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, Georges comes in as the No. 21 prospect in the class of 2027, the No. 2 running back in the nation, and the top overall player from the state of Tennessee. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see a performance like the one he had on Friday help leap him up to the No. 1 RB slot in the next update, but time will tell. It doesn’t change the fact that he’s a game-wrecking prospect that Power 4 teams will be battling for.

Georges already has more than 30 offers, including powerhouse programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, and Texas. The list goes far beyond that, though. It’ll be a heavyweight fight to land this elite prospect.

Fortunately for Tennessee, the Vols have an inside man in the Baylor School locker room. One of Tennessee’s top commits in the 2026 class, five-star offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda, is a starting lineman for Baylor. Osenda has been committed to Tennessee since January and has been a statement piece on the Vols’ recruiting list.

Tennessee’s job is to try to keep the five-star running back talent in the Volunteer State. UT head coach Josh Heupel took a trip to Nashville in early September to see Georges in action during Baylor’s game against Brentwood Academy. VFL Peyton Manning was also in attendance for that game.

Speaking of Manning, he was seated next to Tennessee head baseball coach Tony Vitello during the game on Friday night. Vitello’s Vols are set for an afternoon exhibition game in Chattanooga on Saturday.
