Former Tennessee linebacker commit Braylon Outlaw is heading to the ACC. He de-committed from Tennessee back on Oct. 29 and announced on Monday that he is officially committing to Georgia Tech.
Outlaw is the Yellow Jackets’ 19th commitment in the cycle. Georgia Tech will host Tennessee in the second game of the 2026 season next year in Atlanta, and the game will be played at Bobby Dodd Stadium rather than Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The six-foot, 218-pound linebacker from Pike Road, AL, originally announced his commitment to Tennessee on Nov. 8, 2024. He visited Tennessee multiple times after that and even shut down his recruitment over the summer after being courted by Ole Miss and other programs. In late October, though, he announced his de-commitment from the Vols. The news came less than a week after a visit to the GT program for the Yellow Jackets’ game against Syracuse.
“After careful consideration and talking this through with my family, I have decided to decommit from the University of Tennessee,” Outlaw posted on X on Oct. 29. “I want to thank Coach Inge and Coach Heupel and the entire UT staff for giving me the opportunity to be a part of their program.”
247Sports’ Composite Rankings have Outlaw ranked as the No. 738 player in the nation, the No. 62 linebacker in the class, and the No. 25 player from the state of Alabama. He currently plays ball for Pike Road High School outside of Montgomery, AL.
Even without Outlaw, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel has assembled a strong linebacker group in the cycle, including four-star Brayden Rouse and four-star TJ White. The Vols’ 2026 class currently ranks No. 8 in the nation and No. 4 in the SEC, according to 247 Sports’ Team Rankings.
The early signing period is right around the corner, beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 3. It’ll be the first chance for Tennessee to go ahead and get signatures from each of its 23 commitments as the Vols look to build toward the future under Josh Heupel.

One Response
At least the Vols have the good sense to not 86 Huepel after one loss to Vandy (see Auburn and LSU). They have a great program and great fans- I have had a lot of fun joking with them at games in Nashville. It’s life in the SEC, so suck it up and move on. We’ve had to do that many times.
