Tennessee and Oklahoma will clash in Knoxville on Saturday night in a Top 20 SEC showdown from Neyland Stadium. With both the Vols and the Sooners already having two losses, Saturday’s game is essentially a playoff elimination game with both teams looking to avoid that third crucial loss to start out November.

It’ll be a meeting of good-on-good when Tennessee’s high-flying offense meets Oklahoma’s stout defense. Can Joey Aguilar continue to lead the Vols into high scoring territory as he did against Kentucky, or will Oklahoma’s defense bounce back in a strong way after giving up 34 points to Ole Miss last weekend in Norman?

One key note to watch on the Sooners’ side of things is quarterback John Mateer. The former Washington State quarterback was tearing up the field to the tune of 300+ yards per game in his first four contests, but hasn’t looked the same since undergoing hand surgery back in late September. Since then, he’s been averaging less than 200 yards per game. Will playing Tennessee’s defense be the answer to Mateer’s struggles? We’ll have to see.
