Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and a trio of UT players met with the media during the bye week on Wednesday afternoon in Knoxville. It’s Tennessee’s only media availability this week with the open date on Saturday, but we’ll get back to the standard media schedule starting next Monday for the New Mexico State game.
During his eight-minute press conference on Wednesday, Heupel spoke about a number of bye week storylines, including Jermod McCoy’s injury recovery, the Vols’ chances with the College Football Playoffs, the bye week timeline, and team-specific things such as the punt game heading into the final stretch of the season.
“Good work today,” Heupel said to begin his press conference. “We’ve got another day tomorrow and then some of the coaches will hit the ground recruiting. This week, big focus is again on us during the bye and how we can get better.”
Tennessee also had three players speak with the media, including cornerback Colton Hood, defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs, and defensive back Jalen McMurray.
