Tennessee basketball has one game under its belt in the 2025-26 season after defeating Mercer 76-61 on Monday night. This also worked as the Vols debut for assistant coach Amorrow Morgan and freshman forward DeWayne Brown II.

Morgan joins UT after the departure of Rod Clark and changing of roles for Lucas Campbell. Clark is now at Indiana, while Campbell was named the Director of Player Personnel/Recruiting Coordinator. Morgan joined alongside Steve McClain to help Rick Barnes’ team.

Morgan spent last season at Cal before accepting a job at Florida State. However, six weeks into his tenure with the Seminoles, Barnes came calling and he couldn’t turn it down.

Brown is a true freshman out of Hoover, Alabama. In his college debut against Mercer, he posted six points, five rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes of play off the bench.
