Former Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning has made it a staple of attending Vol football games both home-and-away especially since his NFL playing days ended. But Manning was in attendance for a SEC football game unrelated to Tennessee Saturday night, attending Texas’ 35-10 loss at Georgia.

Manning was inside Sanford Stadium to support his nephew Arch as he led the Longhorns into a critical road game for their College Football Playoff hopes. While there were no doubts about Manning’s rooting interest he donned a baby blue hat, a brown jacket and blue jeans.

Arch Manning struggled but was far from the Longhorns’ biggest issue in their in loss at Georgia. The redshirt sophomore quarterback completed 27-of-43 passes for 251 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Georgia jumped out to a 14-3 lead in the first half before Texas cut the deficit to 14-10 in the third quarter. But it was all Bulldogs from there with Georgia outscoring the Longhorns 21-0 in the fourth quarter. It was a costly loss for Texas’ College Football Playoff hopes. The Longhorns now have three losses this season with a home matchup against rival Texas A&M to conclude the regular season.

It’s the second time that Peyton Manning has watched Georgia in person this season, previously attending the Vols’ matchup against the Bulldogs at Neyland Stadium back in early September. During that trip to Knoxville, Manning helped the Lady Vols’ basketball program recruit five-star forward Olivijah Edwards who committed to Kim Caldwell and her staff on the visit.

Manning faced off against Kirby Smart during while the current Georgia head coach was a player for the Bulldogs. Tennessee was 4-0 against Georgia during Manning’s time in Knoxville though Todd Helton started at quarterback for the Vols in their 41-24 win in Athens during the 1994 season— Manning’s freshman year.
