Lady Vols basketball forward Jersey Wolfenbarger did not play in Tennessee’s 85-41 win over MTSU on the road. Forward Alyssa Latham also did not play in the game, but did return to the sideline.
Afterward, Caldwell updated the status of both players.
As far as Wolfenbarger, she was out with strep. Caldwell said she hopes Latham will return next game.
Wolfenbarger is averaging just 0.8 points per game on 25% shooting from the field. She has not taken a 3-point attempt. Wolfenbarger is averaging 1.8 rebounds and is yet to record an assist, as well. She is fouling 2.5 times per game, too.
She joined the team this off-season as one of three highly anticipated transfers. Wolfenb came from LSU, where she averaged 4.6 points per game in 37 appearances and nine starts. Prior to that, she played a pair of seasons at Arkansas.

Prior to the game against MTSU, Caldwell was asked about Wolfenbarger during a press conference.
“She’s had some good practices,” Caldwell said.
After the game against ETSU, Caldwell was also asked about the lack of production from Wolfenbarger to that point.
“I think she was foul-prone tonight,” Caldwell said. “I think she needs to get more rebounds. She’s one that knows her role pretty well. I’d like to get her into ball screens quicker on the floor. She’s a very good cutter. Her and JB have played well together and I think now that we’re off the practice floor and into games, she’s not cutting the way she has been in practice, so just getting her back to those things.”
Tennessee will be back in action this Sunday at 2 p.m. ET for a home clash with Coppin State. The game will air on SEC Network+.
