With just a day until Tennessee football meets Florida in Gainesville, the Vols have released their list of team captains for the game in The Swamp. UT does captains on a game-by-game basis, but often a lot of the picks repeat throughout the season.
This time, each option has already served as a captain. Nobody has been a captain on this list more than linebacker Jeremiah Telander, though. The starting middle linebacker is going to be a captain for his fifth time in 11 games. That only trails longsnapper Bennett Brady’s seven captain nods.
Also serving as a captain for the game against Florida is running back DeSean Bishop. The starting running back has received the bulk of the load at the position this year, while splitting some snaps with Peyton Lewis and Star Thomas. This is his third time.
Dominic Bailey, a sixth-year senior, has also been a consistent piece on the defensive line as both a defensive end and tackle. This will be his third time as a captain.
For the second time this year, linebacker Ben Bolton is also a captain. He is likely representing the special teams phase of the game, but he does get a handful of defensive snaps throughout games.
