Lady Vols basketball is staring down the toughest slate of its out-of-conference slate. With a week to prepare, Tennessee is then boarding a flight all the way to the west coast to play both UCLA and Stanford. Ahead of the trip, UT head coach Kim Caldwell held a press conference to give her thoughts.
Caldwell was asked about a tough out-of-conference slate, the return of Alyssa Latham, Janiah Barker playing at her former school and more.
The game against UCLA is scheduled for Nov. 30 at 4:30 p.m. ET. Then, the Lady Vols meet Stanford in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Dec. 3 at 9:15 p.m. ET.
“It’s gonna be a big trip,” Caldwell said. “We’re gonna have to grow up real fast. I think what I’m looking forward to the most is an intentional week of practice going into a really big road trip. And we have to mature. We have to grow. I think that there will be a sense of urgency in practice going forward. I hope that there is. If not, it’s gonna be a miserable trip. But I’m excited about that.”
