Tennessee football concludes its regular season on Saturday afternoon when they host Vanderbilt on Senior Day at Neyland Stadium.
The instate rivalry matchup has College Football Playoff implications but ESPN’s College Gameday is at an even bigger rivalry game as Michigan hosts Ohio State and looks to extend its winning streak in the rivalry series.
In Knoxville, Vanderbilt can set itself up for a potential College Football Playoff appearance with a victory. The Commodores are 9-2 (5-2 SEC) and are in the middle of their best season in program history. Even with a win, Vanderbilt will likely need a little bit of help to make the 12-team playoff.
Tennessee enters the rivalry matchup 8-3 (4-3 SEC) and is looking to end the regular season with a second straight rivalry win. The Vols rolled past Florida last week for their first win in Gainesville since 2003. Despite being out of the playoff picture, Tennessee can still end the regular season on a positive note.
As of Saturday morning, Tennessee is 3-point favorites against Vanderbilt according to the DKSportsbook. The over/under is set at 54.5. Kickoff between Tennessee and Vanderbilt is at 3:30 ET Saturday afternoon. Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers and Cole Cubelic are on the call for ESPN.
It’s a split decision for the College Gameday crew with three picking Tennessee and two picking Vanderbilt. Here’s how the ESPN College Gameday crew picked the SEC showdown.
