
Tennessee football signed nine players from the Volunteer State last week as part of its 2026 recruiting class. Three of those nine players finished their week and high school careers with a splash by winning TSSAA state championships.
Cornerback Jamyan Theodore and offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda helped lead Baylor to a Division II-AAA title as the Baylor School defeated Brentwood Academy 28-24 on Thursday night. Theodore also plays offense for Baylor and recorded a 31-yard touchdown late in the first half.
Theodore ranks as a three-star recruit and the No. 904 player in the 2026 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings. He also ranks as the No. 72 corner nationally and No. 28 player in the state of Tennessee in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
Osenda is one of the higher ranked players in Tennessee’s 2026 recruiting class. The 6-foot-7, 330-pound offensive tackle ranks as the No. 90 player and No. 11 offensive tackle in the 2026 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings. He also ranks as the No. 4 player in the state of Tennessee.
After the Baylor duo started the weekend strong at the state championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee four-star athlete Joel Wyatt and Oakland finished it strong Saturday night. Oakland routed Ravenwood 62-21 to win the Class 6A State Championship.

Wyatt chose Tennessee over Vanderbilt over the summer and the Vols made it to the finish line with Wyatt despite LSU pushing last week. The versatile defender recorded an interception in the win.

Wyatt ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 65 player nationally according to the 247sports composite rankings. Listed as an athlete, Wyatt will likely start his college career playing safety but could end up at linebacker or even as an edge rusher. Wyatt ranks as the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee.
Josh Heupel and his staff did a strong job recruiting the state of Tennessee in the 2026 recruiting cycle. The Vols signed three of the state’s top 5 players and six of the state’s top 10 players according to the 247sports composite rankings.
Those top 10 commits include Wyatt (No. 2), Osenda (4), Knoxville receiver Tyreek King (5), Clarksville offensive tackle Kamari Blair (6), Greeneville cornerback Zay Anderson (9) and Cross Plains edge rusher Zach Groves (10).
Tennessee football’s 2026 recruiting class ranks No. 7 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
