Lady Vols basketball is once again on the move in the AP Poll. This time, it’s in the right direction, though. After beating Stanford on the road 65-62 on Wednesday, Tennessee has moved up one spot to No. 18 in the country.

This mark is good for eighth in the SEC. The Lady Vols are slotted behind No. 2 Texas, No. 3 South Carolina, No. 5 LSU, No. 9 Oklahoma, No. 14 Vanderbilt, No. 15 Kentucky and No. 17 Ole Miss. Georgia and Alabama are unranked, but both received votes, as well.

Nationally, the poll is led by UConn. The Lady Vols will play the Huskies on the road this year. Other highly-ranked non-SEC teams include No. 4 UCLA, which Tennessee lost to on the road, No. 6 Michigan, No. 7 Maryland, No. 8 TCU and No. 10 Iowa State.

After the win over Stanford, the Lady Vols now have plenty of time to prepare for the next portion of the out-of-conference slate. Tennessee won’t play again until Sunday, Dec. 14. That is over a week off between the game against the Cardinal to round out a week-long trip to California to play a pair of games.

The next matchup is slated against Winthrop at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET and will air on SECN+. Then, it’s a clash with No. 22 Louisville on Dec. 20 in Brooklyn, New York. That game is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET on FOX.

The final game before SEC play will be back at home against Southern Indiana on Dec. 22. The SEC schedule begins on Jan. 1 against Florida at home before road matches with Auburn and Mississippi State.

The Lady Vols are currently led by Talaysia Cooper in scoring. She is averaging 15.9 points per game on 43.6% shooting from the field and 29.8% on 3-pointers. She also leads the team with 4.8 assists and 4.2 steals per game. Zee Spearman is the leading rebounder at 7.2 and blocker at 0.9 per game.
