No. 20 Tennessee snapped a three-game losing streak on Tuesday night with a massive home win over No. 11 Louisville. The Vols won by a score of 83-62, thanks to a +14 second-half showing led by point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie. He led the Vols in scoring with 23 points on the night, with 20 of those coming in the second half of play.
Tennessee also had a big night from Jaylen Carey as the big man kept the Vols’ engine running in the first half. He ended the game with a double-double, scoring 12 points and picking up 10 rebounds.
Rick Barnes’ squad entered the game with three-straight losing efforts to Kansas, Syracuse, and Illinois. But a return to the Food City Center proved to be the home cooking that the Vols needed to get out of their funk.
