Former versatile Tennessee football wide receiver Chas Nimrod is going to be back in the transfer portal after just one season, according to a report from On3. Nimrod joined his former offensive coordinator at UT, Alex Golesh, at USF this past season. However, with Golesh off to be the head coach at Auburn, Nimrod is now also going to be looking for a new home.

This past season with the Bulls, Nimrod caught 23 passes for 466 yards and three touchdowns. However, he battled injury, playing in the first six games of the season before missing the rest of the year. The team went 5-1 in those six games, including a win at Florida and a loss at Miami. It finished the season 9-3 before losing its bowl game to Old Dominion.

Nimrod just completed his redshirt-junior campaign, giving him one final year of eligibility. While following Golesh to Auburn would be a natural fit, there is still a chance he could end up elsewhere.

Nimrod played three seasons at Tennessee before entering the transfer portal. In 2024, for the Vols team that made the College Football Playoffs, Nimrod played a key role as a reserve receiver who could play both on the outside and in the slot. With injury woes at both positions, this proved to be important.

However, Nimrod would enter the transfer portal before the playoff game against Ohio State, meaning he did not play in the game, and Braylon Staley was asked to step up as a true freshman in the slot. On the season, Nimrod posted 10 receptions for 121 yards and no touchdowns.

He played sparingly in 2023 and in just two games in 2022, earning a redshirt for that year. He caught his lone touchdown as a Vol during the 2023 campaign.

Nimrod is from Bentonville, Arkansas. He was a three-star prospect out of high school and remains with that designation as a transfer.
