Tennessee football is firmly in the mix for one of the top linebacker recruits in the country. Four-star backer Antwoine Higgins listed the Vols alongside Alabama, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Indiana, according to Rivals. The Vols, Hoosiers and Aggies are seemingly the three at the top, as well.
Higgins ranks as the No. 191 recruit in the country on 247 in the 2027 class. He is the No. 10 linebacker in the group and No. 3 player from Ohio. He currently plays for Anderson in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Higgins initially hosted him on a visit back in April of 2023. He picked up his offer on Jan. 23, 2024. After that, he made it to campus on Oct. 12 for a game day, the following April, May and June and game day visits this season in September and November.

More From RTI: Tennessee Head Coach Josh Heupel Gives Thoughts on the State of College Football
Higgins earned his offer from tight ends coach Alec Abeln and took a picture with outside linebackers coach Levorn ‘Chop’ Harbin during a recent visit. While he still may trend to play a traditional linebacker role, at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, he may also be an option to slide out to edge rusher.
The Vols currently hold four commitments in the 2027 cycle. This is headlined by in-state offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo. He ranks as the No. 110 player in the country and holds four-star status, via 247. Three-star commitments in the boat so far include defensive lineman Kadin Fife, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield and linebacker JP Peace. The group ranks as the No. 13 class in the country on 247.
Josh Heupel just inked one of the best classes in the country for the 2026 cycle, as well. His signing class clocks in as the No. 5 group in the country on 247, including signings of a trio of five-star prospects. While the Vols lost the signing of four-star athlete Legend Bey last week, there are still plenty of dynamic options that have signed to fill his role.
