Tennessee football can, in part, thank five-star quarterback signee Faizon Brandon for its elite 2026 class. The Vols landed a top-five class in the country via 247’s rankings, and having arguably the best quarterback in the country in the boat early went a long way in helping land top talent.

Brandon’s impact may extend to the 2027 class, as well. His high school teammate and four-star edge rusher Andrew Rogers is high on the Vols, according to a report from Rivals.

“Tennessee is a crazy place,” Rogers said in the report. “The hype is real.”

Rogers ranks as the No. 348 recruit in the 2027 class, via 247 Composite. He is the No. 29 edge rusher and No. 13 player out of North Carolina. He plays alongside Brandon at Grimsley in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he has just won a state title.

Rogers is naturally a class of 2027 recruit, but reclassified to the 2026 class. However, he moved back to his initial 2027 designation and is seemingly set to return for one more year of high school ball as he finalizes his decision. He was formerly a Virginia Tech commit, but backed off the pledge a handful of weeks after Brent Pry was fired.

Rogers was tied to Tennessee before Pry was even fired, though. He took a visit to Knoxville for the game against Georgia and has been on the Vols’ radar for a while.

UT currently holds four commitments in the 2027 cycle. This is headlined by in-state offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo. He ranks as the No. 110 player in the country and holds four-star status, via 247. Three-star commitments in the boat so far include defensive lineman Kadin Fife, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield and linebacker JP Peace. The group ranks as the No. 13 class in the country on 247.
