Tennessee football has signed a very strong 2026 class and is now turning its attention to the 2027 cycle. One of the targets that has liked what he’s seen from the Vols so far is four-star athlete Aroson ‘AJ’ Randle Jr.
According to a report from Rivals, he is ‘high on Tennessee, Alabama and Ohio State’ at this point in the recruiting process. He also holds offers from the likes of Miami, Penn State, Ole Miss, Florida State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Michigan State and more.
Randle is considered a four-star and the No. 327 player in the class, via 247 Composite rankings. He is listed as a linebacker on 247, considered the No. 24 player at the position. However, he can play multiple positions on the field. His UT offer came in from scouting analyst Donovan Lahmann, meaning there is no indication yet on exactly how the Vols would use him.
Randle is from Raleigh, North Carolina, where he plays for Garner. He is considered the No. 11 player in the class by 247 Composite. Tennessee has had immense success recruiting that area under Josh Heupel and stemming back to extremely successful teams under Phillip Fulmer, Johnny Majors and others.

Randle made his way to Knoxville to take a Tennessee visit one time this past season. He was in attendance for the Vols’ loss to Oklahoma, though multiple recruits have raved about the game day atmosphere and lasting impression from that night.
The Vols currently hold four commitments in the 2027 cycle. This is headlined by in-state offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo. He ranks as the No. 110 player in the country and holds four-star status, via 247.
Three-star commitments in the boat so far include defensive lineman Kadin Fife, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield and linebacker JP Peace. The group ranks as the No. 13 class in the country on 247.
