Five-Star Receiver, Instate Tennessee Football Target Announces Commitment Date

Five-star receiver Kesean Bowman announced his college commitment date on Tuesday night. Bowman is down to a top group that includes Miami, Oregon, Ohio State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He’s announcing his commitment on Feb. 10 according to Rivals’ Chad Simmons.

A standout at Brentwood Academy in Middle Tennessee, Bowman is a former Oregon commit. He made his pledge to the Ducks back in July before de-committing in the middle of September.

Bowman ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 32 player in the 2027 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings. He also ranks as the No. 6 receiver and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee in the 2027 cycle.

Tennessee has long targeted Bowman in the 2027 cycle. He visited Tennessee multiple times before committing to Oregon. Bowman also visited Tennessee both the week before (Georgia) and after (UAB) that he de-committed from the Ducks.

Bowman also took visits to Alabama and Ohio State during the fall. With his commitment date approaching, Vanderbilt seems to be Tennessee’s top competition to land the the five-star receiver.

The 6-foot-1 receiver played with Tennessee quarterback George MacIntyre during the 2024 season at Brentwood Academy, catching 56 passes for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns.

Bowman is a part of a loaded 2027 recruiting class in the state of Tennessee. The top player in the state is elite running back David Gabriel Georges at the Baylor School. FRA linebacker Omarii Sanders committed to Vanderbilt over Tennessee last month and is the No. 3 player in the class. The No. 7 player in the class — four-star offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo — is committed to Tennessee.

Tennessee football’s 2027 recruiting class currently contains four commits including from Knoxville linebacker JP Peace. The Vols’ 2027 recruiting class currently ranks No. 13 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC according to the 247sports team ranking.
