So far, it certainly seems like the bulk of Tennessee football’s efforts in the transfer portal are on the defensive side of the ball. However, there are still some holes to fill on the offensive end due to departures from the current roster.
With starting left tackle Lance Heard off to the transfer portal, the Vols are going to have to replace one of their pieces on the offensive line. While there are a couple of options on the roster, including sliding Jesse Perry back out to tackle or trusting five-star freshman Gabe Osenda, finding a transfer may be necessary to at least join the room and compete for the starting role.
If that’s the route Tennessee goes, it seemingly has a target circled. According to a report from Chris Hummer, Delaware tackle Anwar O’Neal has scheduled a visit to see the Vols. He is currently at Louisville and will also take a look at Mississippi State at some point.
Delaware OT Anwar O’Neal is currently on a trip to Louisville and has two other visits set, a source tells @CBSSports:

O’Neal started for two years at Delaware. The Blue Hens listed him as a junior on their roster this past year, but he only played in two games as a true freshman in 2023. This should give him two more years of eligibility.
Last season, O’Neal started in 12 games, including the bowl game, all at left tackle. On the year, he produced a PFF overall grade of 67.1. As a pass blocker, it was up to a 68.0 mark.
247 ranks O’Neal as a three-star transfer and the No. 733 player in the portal. He is the No. 46 offensive tackle. O’Neal is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
