Tennessee football is in desperate need of adding talent to its defensive line. That’s not just on the interior, either. The Vols need to add edge rushers at both the defensive end and LEO positions.

According to a report from GoVols247, Tennessee has identified a target that it will bring to campus. Tulane edge rusher transfer Jordan Norman will visit Knoxville this week.

Norman fits the defensive end role, the position he played off the bench for Tulane this past season. He recorded 28 tackles, eight tackles for loss and six sacks in 14 games for the Green Wave. The team made the College Football Playoffs, but lost to Ole Miss in the opening round.

Norman posted a 71.9 PFF grade for the season, as well. This came in 447 snaps across the 14 contests.

Norman will have two years of eligibility remaining. He played his first two seasons at South Alabama and received a redshirt for his true freshman year. He is from Hoover, Alabama, and went to Hoover High School.

Tennessee has lost the majority of its production at defensive end following the 2025 season, and Norman would be a welcome addition. Both Dominic Bailey and Tyre Weset are out of eligibility following productive senior seasons.

This leaves just Tyree Weathersby and Mariyon Dye as returners who contributed last year, though neither played a ton of snaps. Tennessee also brings in a number of freshmen, including Carter Gooden, Jordan Carter and Kedric Golston.

While it’s unlikely he’d play the LEO role, Tennessee also needs help there. The Vols are losing Joshua Josephs to eligibility, and both Caleb Herring and Jordan Ross are off to the transfer portal. This leaves Christian Gass as the lone returner, but he rarely played a year ago as he fought through injury as a true freshman.

Freshmen on the way to join that room include Zach Groves, Hezekiah Harris and CJ Edwards.
