Tennessee football has landed its third commitment of Saturday. After picking up two Penn State defenders, edge rusher Chaz Coleman and safety Dejuan Lane, Oklahoma State wide receiver Gavin Freeman has committed.
Freeman, a slot receiver for the Cowboys, will have one year of eligibility remaining. At just 5-foot-8, he caught 53 passes for 481 yards and four touchdowns. He started every game for Oklahoma State and led the team in receiving yards and touchdowns.
Freeman also served as a kick and punt returner for Oklahoma State. While it would be tough for him to find too much playtime in the slot with Braylon Staley returning, this is an area he could certainly make an impact in.
Freeman started his career at Oklahoma. He played two seasons there before playing the past two with Oklahoma State. He is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he played for Heritage Hall in high school.

This now marks the 10th commitment of the portal cycle for the Vols. It is just the second offensive addition, joining LSU offensive tackle Ory Williams.
The primary effort has been on the defensive end. Along with Coleman and Lane, UT has brought in Kansas State safety Qua Moss, Auburn cornerback Kayin Lee, Penn State defensive lineman Xavier Gilliam and linebacker Amare Campbell.
Specialists who have been brought in include Louisville kicker Cooper Ranvier and specialist Blake Howard.
The other receiver seemingly on Tennessee’s radar through the portal is LSU’s Jelani Watkins. He is inexperienced and has multiple years of eligibility, but he has already shone as a track star.
Freeman joins an extremely talented room that features the likes of Staley, Mike Matthews, Radarious Jackson, Travis Smith Jr. and TK Keys.
